Cute things over the break

Just a few other cute pictures I have to include...
Kirsten came over for a short visit. Kirsten is Christine and Curt's daughter. See her playing with Maya and Mason. Kirsten is just about 2 months older than Maya. We hope they will be great friends as they grow up together!

Also, one morning Mason called me from upstairs to let me know he was awake. As I started up the stairs, I could see him sitting on the top step. I found him sitting there with lots of his new favorite things... Sportacus, "Lips" (Chapstick, or lip balm), Sunglasses, his "Papi", and his juice. He had them arranged so neat. I told him to wait right there while I got the camera.

Christmas Day

Santa came to visit and left Mason a bicycle and Maya a new toy that you hammer balls into. The both got a few other things in their stocking as well. Mason seemed more interested in Maya's toy, and Maya in the bike.... I guess that is just how it goes sometimes!

Anyway, Mason and Maya also opened presents from Uncle Chip, Aunt Debbie, and Cousin Lindsay who live FAR FAR away in the British Vigin Islands. One thing Maya got was a cute "Maya" doll from the show "Maya & Miguel." She was genuinely so excited about it. She was kicking her legs and squeeling as I handed it to her. Mason got a Nemo watch which was equally as exciting. He often wants to wear my watch or Daddy's watch, so we were glad for that too. Thank you SO much Chip, Debbie, and Lindsay for ALL of our gifts! We wish we could have been with you!!

Christmas Eve

Maya enjoyed her first Christmas eve. She really has enjoyed the wrapping paper, bags, boxes and tissue paper the most. Mason LOVES the Sportacus (hero from the show LazyTown) that we got him. Once he opened that, he was busy for the rest of the day with him. We had to make a little bed out of a blanket for Sportacus on Mason's nightstand.

We tried to get a picture of all of the cousins together. It didn't work out so well. I think we waited too late in the day!!

About "Hidy" and more

Hidy with 4 of his Grandchildren. This was taken on my Dads' actual birthday. The grandkids call him "Hidy" for those of you that don't know. Here with Hidy is Lauren, or La La, Zoe (in the hot pink), Mason, and Maya (in the light pink). When Lauren was a little baby, my Dad would always greet her with "Hidy, Hidy" over and over. She started calling him "Hidy" and we thought it was so cute, it stuck. I think it was one of her first words... My little Lauren will be turning 14 next month!!!

Mason being tickled by La La. Mason is sporting the pink heart sunglasses. Very manly.

Santa in the helicopter

As I wrote before, Santa came to town on Friday in a helicopter. Actually, with all the friends he brought along, they came in 3 helicopters. Here are some of the pictures from that event!

Countdown to Christmas

Mason and Maya had on their Christmas PJ's last night, so we took a few pictures by the tree. Of course, I wasn't getting a lot of cooperation. Maya wanted to pull on the tree or grab an ornament or look at the lights. Mason wanted to tickle Maya or tackle her for that matter.... But anyway, I got a few shots.

We are looking forward to Christmas.

Friday we took Mason and Maya to see Santa and his crew come in a helicopter. Actually 3 helicopters landed and unloaded Santa, Mrs. Claus, Rudolph, Snowman, Ms. Texas, LOTS of elves and some others. They all came by and shook Mason's hand. He was thrilled. Maya enjoyed seeing all the other screaming kids. I hope to post pictures of this event later. The pictures are on my Mom & Dad's camera...

Saturday, Grandmother took Mason to see the trains at a mall in Dallas. I wish we had pictures, but there was not a camera with them. And with coats and everything else that goes along with a toddler in a mall, Grandmother had her hands full anyway!! He really enjoyed his day with Grandmother.

Mason's got a new pair of shoes...

Grandmother gave Mason a new pair of house shoes. (thank you Grandmother) They are Winnie the Pooh. When she first brought them over, Mason wasn't interested in wearing them... but when it is his idea, he'll put them on.

Mason is definitely at the stage where he wants to be independent. Everything is "I can do it myself," or "I can do it all by myself," or "NO, I CAN DO IT, I CAN DO IT!" as I am doing something he needs to do own his own. This goes for everything from getting dressed, to brushing teeth, to pouring cereal, to turning on the TV, to getting in the car seat..... need I go on.

Maya likes Mason's chair. Here she is trying it out. She is getting so big right before our very eyes.

Happy Birthday Dad!!!!

Today is my Dear old Dad's birthday! We will go out this weekend sometime to celebrate. I will have to post pictures later.

Happy Birthday Dad / Hidy!! We love you.

Infections Galore~~~

Yesterday was a bad day at the Harris house. I have been in touch with Maya's Dr. for the last week or so. He asked me to come in so he could do a urine sample on Maya. (she has had fever for 8 days!) Come to find out poor baby has a urinary tract infection. :( We got her medicine started and hopefully she is going to get better very soon.

In the same afternoon, my Dr. called -- apparently they have been trying to get a hold of me for almost 2 weeks. They tried so hard - but never called my cell phone or work phone!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I have some sort of infection in my throat. I also got medicine started and hopefully will have this knocked out.

Mason's debut

Last night was Mason's first performance in his Christmas program at school. He did such a great job. I was so proud. He sang all the songs and did all the motions. It was too cute. Unfortunately the pictures I took of him all turned out dark. That makes me sad. I know that Brian video taped it, so we will have that.

30th Birthday Party (Happy Birthday to Christine & Jennifer!)

2 of my best friends had birthdays last week. Christine turned 30 - and we went to a party for her on Saturday night. (No kids!) We all had a good time. It was fun to talk to my girlfriends who I have been friends with since ELEMENTARY school. That is a LONG time!!!

I am very blessed to have such good long time friends. That is very comforting.

Mason and Maya stayed home with my niece, Lauren and my cousin, Bethany.

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Brian & Mason getting ready to blow out the birthday candle stuck in the mashed potatoes...

Happy Birthday to Brian. His birthday fell on the day after Thanksgiving this year - and we happened to be having Thanksgiving with my family that day.

Thanksgiving 2005

Maya enjoys her first Thanksgiving.

Mason helps Pops feed the birds.

Great Aunt Paula brings Mason a surprise. A little basketball goal and ball. He really enjoyed playing with Paula, Paul, Teresa, Scott, Pops, and Grandmother. He got a lot of attention!
