Our last night in Mexico

On our last night, we went to dinner (Hard Rock Cafe), did a little shopping, and then went to the beach and enjoyed the waves. It was very relaxing.

We had a great time on our 6th Anniversary Trip!!
Maybe next year someone will come with us??

Now back home to real life and on to more blog posts about our kids.....

Sunset at Laguna Grill

We ate at a great restaurant called Laguna Grill. The atmosphere was the best part about it, but I enjoyed the food, too.

We sat out on the deck over the water and got to watch the sunset.

Not long after taking our picture in front of the sunset, our waiter told us their was a baby cocodrillo in the water.... (baby crocodile), so we took pictures of him, too. Brian thinks it was an alligator and not a crocodile, but whatever.

Infinity pool

Our Resort has an Infinity Pool...if you don't know what that is or have never seen one, they are awesome. The pools looks like it just goes into the ocean. We took a picture so you could see - but in person it is even more cool. We really enjoyed hanging over it and watching the waves.
The first picture is the view from the pool and the next 2 pictures are the view from the ocean - not the infinity part of it...

More Day 2 - "Mr. Cab Driver"

I left out our beach picture from day 2.

Also I left out our cab ride home from El Centro from our first night.
After such an exhausting trip to town and with our bags from Wal-Mart, we decided that a cab ride home would be worth the extra money compared with the "Autobus." We got in and after a few minutes of no music, and the cab driver talking to someone on his cell phone...we were in for quite a treat. He shuffles thru his CD's obviously looking for a particular one - meanwhile not looking at the road in front of him and speeding down the road. He finds it - pops it in... and plays "I'm not a girl, ...Not yet a Woman.. All I neeed is time..." by Britney Spears. It was hard, but we contained our laughter... Then - after that, he scans around and plays the "Eye of the TIger" song, but before the lyrics started, he decided to move on to another song... it's a great one... "Jitter Bug" by George Michael!!! At this point - I had to stare out the window so as not to make eye contact with Brian. I was about to loose it. Then the last song he play was a Lionel Richie song - I can't think of it.. Anyway - it wasn't like these were on the radio, they were on a CD he had obviously made for himself. It was hilarious. We got out of the cab and Brian said "what was that???!?!!!"

Mexico - our anniversary trip day 2

Brian and I had a much needed vacation to Mexico.

I won't post pictures from our first day or night - because it was a slight disaster. Let's just say after taking the bus into town (not the tourist area) with all the locals, then walking around in the steamy heat, not finding the restaurant we were looking for, going in and out of a restaurant that we settled on and ending up eating Domino's in the Domino's, we found the Wal-Mart - bought a few things and took a cab back to the hotel. The trip to town was really supposed to be just to buy some stuff, like drinks, a little cheaper and have them at our convenience by the pool or in the room or wherever.
Now on to the positives...We had a sweet balcony over looking the beach and our pool area. We even had our own private hot tub on our balcony.

We ventured out to dinner and then to shop at La Isla mall which was really cool. It is a really nice outdoor mall with all kinds of shops. We came across some authentic Mexican hats while we were there and decided to model them for you. Adorable, I know.

Mason can write his first letter

Just came across this picture as I was dumping all my pictures of my memory stick before our vacation tomorrow morning.. my little cute boy.

And, I should report that today Mason starting writing his first letter - on purpose. "H" He is very proud of his "H" writing ability. He wrote probably 20 or so "H"'s just tonight. "'H' is for Hidy" "'H' is for Harris"... just to name a few.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, whose the fairest of them all????

Of course it is Maya - but maybe not this day - with her hair on her head that looks like a wave.

You can see her reactions too!

hair - more July 4th

Photos compliments of Angi!

I think Maya was mad because she wanted food...if I remember it right

Patriotic Parade

*****The 4th! ******

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. I LOVE FIREWORKS!!!! Plus summer is my favorite time of year. As we do every year, we went to a fireworks display Tuesday night. I hope Angi or my Mom got better pictures than I did... but here are a few. The kids did amazingly well for being up until past 11 p.m. That is MANY hours past their bed time. Maya seemed to really enjoy the fireworks. Mason loves the looks of them - but this year wasn't crazy about the loud booms. Mason just recently has developed a fear of thunder...... I guess the fireworks are similar.

Girls and Shoes

It must be something women are born with... cause the girl loves shoes! I mean, she really loves shoes. Her own shoes, my shoes, Daddy's shoes, Mason's shoes, ....really, anyone's shoes will do. But to Maya shoes are "SHEWW -- SHEWW" repeated over and over until she gets it on her foot. Her latest obsession is with flip flops because everyone is wearing them this time of year. I hunted down some of Maya's size flip flops and she really appreciated that! She now has 3 new pairs of flip flops - and one hand me down pair of flip flops from LAUREN - yes, 14 year old LALA.. She is loving it!
