Mini Jones Family Reunion

We had a gathering of Joneses at Hidy and Gigi's house on Sunday. Bev was in from Georgia, Roy A., Trish and Jordan came from Abilene, Mike, Chrys, Oliver and new baby Truett came from Garland, Jennifer from Dallas and then the rest of my family of origin and their families from the area. It was great to see everyone. Mason loves to hold babies. Here he is holding baby Truett.
After lunch and some outdoor play - the kids and a few adults went for a swim. The water is too cold for me now, so I along with some other adults opted for watching from the side of the pool.

This is the 4 siblings from Paducah, TX. From Left: Roy A., Beverly, Harvey, and Jennifer.

While by the pool, Mason hopped out to jump in and stepped on a Bee that stung the bottom of his foot. He screamed in pain as we tried to get the stinger out and put some ointments on his foot. Sweet Carmen, very concerned, went in and promptly wrote Mason a letter.

On the cover or the back the way she folded it, it says "I hope you feel Better Mason
sorry about the foot
love your cosin Carmen"

The inside reads: "Dear Mason
im sorry about your foot and it must really hurt. and I don't know if it was a bee or a wasp. if my dad could find the sting, it probly would have felt a little or a lot better. im relly sorry. I love you Mason know matter what. but the Lord made animals to protect themselves. that bee was scared that he was going to be stepd on. so he had a stinger to protect him or her im sorry
Love Carmen"
This is the gang of 2005 babies! That sat together for a photo op and sang a few songs together.
As you can imagine - pretty hard to get them all smiling at once. If you are wondering about the blanket -- this is after the swim-- they were a little cold in the house after having wet hair. Maya had the blanket first (she was freezing) and shared it with all the other little ones.

Precious

Last night as I was rocking "rock a minute" with Maya -- she out of the blue says as clear as it could be said:
"I will praise Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

I said "Oh, Maya -- that is so great!!!"

That is the Bible verse, Psalm 139:14, they are learning this month at school. She is a sponge.

These are the things we can all learn from a less than 2 1/2 year old! So precious.

Mason's 1st Soccer game

Grandmother and Maya watch as Mason and his team practice.

Mason dribbling the ball to the goal.
Big kick for a goal!
Mason had plenty of energy and played nearly the whole game. He came out quickly a few times for a drink.
Half time -- Coach talks to the Wildcats about the game. Overheard "....if your friends in black and red are kicking the ball, don't push them, let them kick it to the goal...."
Zoe and Maya watch and cheer on the Wildcats and their favorite player, Mason.

After the game Mason with his snack and his BLUE Gatorade which is all over his mouth....

His team looked pretty good. They are hilarious all gathered around the ball. If one person gets tripped up, typically 4 or 5 kids end up falling on the ground, and usually in a pile.

Ice Cream

I scream, You scream, we all scream for Ice Cream!!!

Maya sure does know how to enjoy an ice cream cone!! She tends to eat the bottom of the cone first, so you can see why she gets so messy!

Mason and Zoe enjoyed their ice cream too, but didn't get as messy!

P-Lo's Birthday

Paloma's 2nd birthday party was themed after one of her favorite books, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

Gigi made the cake with all the characters in the book, and it was adorable. Angi, of course, made an awesome little book patterned after the book for the birthday party invitation -- it was "Paloma, Paloma, What will you do?" My kids have enjoyed reading that -- and have it memorized.

The last present P-Lo opened was a special little shirt with a message to us all. YES -- Angi is pregnant with NUMBER FOUR!!!! She is due in April.

School Days

The kids are back at school! Mason was excited to go back, Maya talked like she was. The first morning Maya and Zoe were a little apprehensive -- new classroom and new teachers, but Maya has adjusted quickly.

This is Mason with his teacher, Ms. Kari.
And Mason again with his other teacher, Ms. Michelle. In both pictures, Mason is holding "Sammy" who has been lucky enough to be chosen to take to school for the 3rd year in a row for "teddy bear picnic" day.

This is Zoe and Maya on "teaddy bear picnic" day.

Lauren and Devon on their first day of school, wore coordinating outfits. They do make a very cute couple.

Jennifer & Michael's Wedding

Jennifer and Michael finally tied the knot on Saturday. I don't even have a great picture of the 2 of them together. I love this one of them dancing because you can see Jennifer's gorgeous dress, but it is so dark. I was in the wedding, so obviously wasn't taking pictures then, and then at the reception I stayed pretty busy watching the kids. Some of these pictures are from my Mom & Dad's camera. I suspect Angi and David will have some good ones too.

The kids were so cute dancing.
This is mostly previous Shirley Way girls! Christine, Jennifer, and I and our sisters, plus Katie and her youngest of 5, Lucy.

Christine and Kirsten before the wedding. Kirsten was the flower girl.
Maya was pretty clingy with me at the reception, but I didn't mind. We had fun dancing, and she loved my bouquet.
We got to here one of "our songs" that we sing together frequently, My Girl! She was excited about that.
