Black-eyed Baby

I went to school to help Maya's class decorate Gingerbread houses. I got there early and got to see them in their routine, saying the pledge among other things. I love that.

When I left school to go to work, Maya looked like this with her fabulous gingerbread house.

I got a call later that afternoon from the school Nurse. She said Maya had a "collision" on the playground and she was "okay" but she would probably have a bruise around her eye. When I saw her after work, she looked like this....

This is how it looked before she went to bed.

Day 2 looking pretty bad! It's definitely when people began asking "WHAT HAPPENED?"

Day 3, looking tough...

2nd Grade Thanksgiving Program

November 18, 2010
The 2nd grade put on a really cute Thanksgiving program. This is Mason with his buddy, Grant.

During the program, some of the kids read stories they had written about Thanksgiving traditions or what they were thankful for. Masons' friend, Preston, was one student that got to read his story. In it he said "I'm thankful for my friend Mason who helps me out in difficult situations." I was so proud. That is so sweet it made me cry.

Big Cheerleader

November 4, 2010
Maya had so much fun cheering for the Trinity Trojans.
She was excited about cheering with the "big cheerleaders" on the big football field.

Maya with her friend, Taylor. Taylor's Mom, Amie, is the cheerleading sponsor.

Happy Halloween 2010

The kids picked their costumes this year. Mason chose first to be a Tech football player. It might have been because he really wanted the football helmet, but I was glad to get it for him. Maya followed in his idea and said she wanted to be a Tech cheerleader.

Sabrina got letters to add "HARRIS" to his jersey! Cute!

It was pumpkin carving time. Mason wants no part of getting in the slime, but Maya dug right in.

Happy Halloween & GO TECH & GOOOO RANGERS!!

Mushroom kickers

I don't know why -- but my kids love to kick mushrooms when they grow in the grass. They were all showered, clean and in their pajamas when Brian came in and announced they should get on their boots and come out to kick mushrooms....and they did.

F-35 Float

Our friends at work, Dean & Ginger, got Mason and Maya this awesome F-35 float. This is especially cool since Brian and I work so hard week to week supporting the F-35 program!! It was funny when I found the float on my desk at work because just the previous week, I had seen that someone else had one and mentioned around a group of people that "I want one!!!!" But I had not been able to find where to buy one. But, Dean & Ginger had no idea that I wanted one or was looking for one. I think Ginger saw them on woot and bought a bunch for their friends with kids and a pool!

The kids L-O-V-E the fighter jet float!
And I L-O-V-E this picture and these 2 kids!!
