Maya - 18 months

Maya,
You are 18 months old today! I can hardly believe it.
This picture is you in your chair before school. Nesha put your hair in pig tails and you looked adorable.
I always think you look adorable. That's my job as your Mom. You are so funny.
You are starting to play a lot with your cousin Zoe. Both of you are starting to really pay attention to each other, interact and copy each other.
Your favorite food group is FRUIT. You would eat fruit of almost any kind for as long as we would let you. If there is fruit in sight, you want some of it. As I have posted before, you LOVE apples.. WHOLE.APPLES. If I don't remove the core, you will eat that too.
You still love your blankies and your quack-quacks among other things in your bed. You have a new "Zeba" (Zebra) that you really love a lot too. When you wake up in the morning or after a nap, you like to bring arm fulls of stuff with you from your bed.
You are Wild. You learned some of your wild behavior from your older brother Mason, but some of your wildness is just you.
You say EVERYTHING. You sing your ABC's, (with some letters missing), Old McDonald, and my new favorite Jesus Loves me, (you repeat "Yes, Jesus loves me" in the sweetest voice I've ever heard) and you count (with some numbers missing).
You are tough. It's a good thing, since you are wild and you have a big brother.
You still LOVE to read books. Your favorite books are torn apart from so much use. You can read several books by memory. I think you are super smart!
You also still love the sand box. If you get the chance to go in Hidy and Gigi's back yard - you head straight for the sand. You could sit in there for hours.
I want lots of hugs and kisses from you - but you are really too busy for all that mushy stuff. I can usually get a few good kisses and hugs from you in a day though.
I love you little Pita - stop growing up so fast! Mama

Mason's haircut like Daddy

Last weekend I couldn't take Mason's hair anymore. He was in desperate need of a haircut and I didn't make it to Cool Cuts to see Ms. Peggy in time.... so I got out the clippers and the barber chair (the kitchen bar stool) and got busy. Since that time, many people that have seen him have commented that he looks more like Daddy. I tried to capture the new "do" tonight.

Paloma's Circus Party (part 1)

Paloma is one - I can't believe a year has past! Angi chose a very appropriate birthday party theme for anyone in our family ---- CIRCUS!! :) The party was a big hit - especially with the kids.

David was the Ring Master of the circus. I must say - a very good daddy to dress in a tuxedo on a VERY HOT and HUMID day just for his little girls' circus birthday!! After the "lions and tigers" did their tricks on the stand, Maya needed a turn. She stood on it and then promptly jumped off. You can see the "tigers" in the background jumping thru the "fire" ring.
Brian and I sit and relax while talking to 2 special ladies... Ms. Jackie and Nesha. These 2 women have taken extraordinary care of our M&M!

Maya and Zoe playing in the truck and mommies step in for a photo shoot.

Maze and Mason

Our good friends Chuck and Jeanne came by on their way to the airport. Chuck is headed to Australia. Chuck works with Brian and I. We have a standing lunch every week with him. He is also a good buddy of Mason's, talking with him regularly on the phone.
Maya refused to get in the picture with the Maze's, we will try again next time!
Chuck - You made it on the blog! We hope you are having a good time down under.

Harris and Johnson Night out
Last Saturday we went to dinner with Colette, KJ, and Reese. We have fun catching up as much as you can with 3 children around. After dinner they came over and the kids played.
Mason enjoyed reading books with Colette and KJ who gave great expressions and reactions to his every move.

The kids had fun showing off how they dance and jump off the table, run around, and scream like wild ones....

Mason took this last picture of KJ, Reese, Colette and Maya... a little fuzzy, but cute anyway.
