Sock Hop

Mason's school had a 50's Sock Hop. Evertime it was brought up, Mason said, "do you mean that dance??.... I'm not going, that's for girls." So up until time to leave, I really didn't know if we were going to go to the sock hop or not. I felt pretty sure Mason would not be "dressing up."
Angi let Maya borrow the adorable poodle skirt, scarves, and saddle oxfords. She was in heaven -- LOVED the outfit. I put her tutu that Nesha made her under the poodle skirt to give it the fullness.

Maya wasted no time getting out on the dance floor. Mr. David, our neighbor who has 3 daughters of his own, spun her around and she loved that. She joined right in with all the older girls. She didn't seem to notice or care she was 4 years younger than most of them. The one in the red skirt was one of our former neighbors, Alyssa.

I didn't think Mason was going to do any dancing. They had other activities and he stayed busy checking those out. But finally Preston and Mason did join in the dancing.

Mason started with his own break dancing moves.

Maya dancing with Brianna, one of our neighbors.

Mason and Preston jitter bugging.

The Cha Cha slide. It was fun to watch them and they were very tired when we got home.

Before & After

Raider can destroy a new dog toy in just minutes, sometimes seconds....
Mason had another good basketball game. There was a girl on the opposing team that was MUCH taller than any kid on the court. And she was good too. We might see her one day in th WNBA.

Mason did score here -- but do you see the tall girl in the air?!?!
And here she is gaurding Mason again.
Mason loves to run the court after he scores!

On the sideline, Maya was entertained by Pops SMU hat and Grandmother's pretty jacket. She kept saying "S -M -U.... P=U!!!"

She sure does look cute in the hat, though.

Even cuter with Grandmother's jacket too!

Girls, Girls, Girls

It was my Friday off and Melissa called to see if we wanted to meet her and her girls at the park. I made a few calls and invited more girls. Hannah, Zoe, Paloma, Maya and Rachel had a fun time at the park.

Maya hiding behind the sign...

Rachel is so cute and funny..she is fun to watch. While all of us girls were playing, my friend, Christine was giving birth to her daughter Addison Marie.

That night after dinner, I left M&M with Brian and went to the hospital to see Christine and Babby Addison. Isn't she so sweet?

Lauren's Birthday Dinner

We went to The Cheesecake Factory for Lauren's 17th birthday dinner. Lately, when I ask Maya to smile for a picture, I get these silly expressions out of her instead.

While we waited for a table, Carmen, Mason, and Gabe played on the DS. Mason has been asking for his very own DS... Carmen and Gabe both have them as well as some of Mason's other friends.

After dinner Mason was laughing hysterically...

what could possibly be so funny, you ask???

CARMEN!
I got to sit by the birthday girl!
Paloma enjoyed several bites of Lauren's cheesecake.

We had a BIG day... we were only in the car for a few minutes when I noticed the kids were really quiet... they had both fallen fast asleep.

My precious little angels.

Giggly girls

Kirsen had her 4th birthday party at a jumping place.

We got there a little early.. Maya and Kirsten were waiting patiently on the bench...and they got the giggles. None of the rest of us ever really knew what they were laughing at, but we enjoyed taking pictures of the pure joy!

Once inside, Mason and Maya played a little air hockey.

Kirsten wanted Mason to accompany her down the slide.... that Mason is popular with the little girls.

Allison and Zoe sliding fast...

Hoops

Maya wanted to wear my sunglasses at Mason's basketball game... she looks "glam."

Mason had another awesome game.

You can see the smile on his face after one of his several scores of the day...

Working on his defense and guarding...

Maya being a little stinker on the sidelines... and I told her I was going take a picture of her throwing a fit...that made her more mad.

He shoots....He SCORES!
