Friday Play Date

We met Christine, Kirsten, a.k.a. "Kiki", and baby Ryan to swim and play in Gigi's backyard. Zoe and Lala were there too.
It was hot so everyone enjoyed the pool. Then Kirsten really enjoyed her FIRST POPSICLE. Poor Kirsten -- her Mommy is a food Nazi.
It was very cute to see all the kids swinging and playing together. Of course it was about impossible to get a picture of them all smiling and looking toward the camera!

We all got to snuggle Ryan a little bit. He is such a great baby!

Sleepy hair

I took Mason to get a hair cut this morning. She cut it short, shorter than I planned. I was over in the play area with Maya, so I didn't really see how she was cutting it until it was mostly finished. In the back at the crown of his hair, he tends to have a place where his hair sticks up. He has mentioned this before, as he doesn't like it to stick up.

I walked over to get him when they were done and the girl smiled and said "he sure can carry a conversation!" I said, "yes, he is a talker."

We pay and leave. In the car....

Mason: "Mommy, that hair in the back is sticking up"

Me: "It's okay, it will lay down"

Mason: "when it gets tired???"

Me: Laughing a lot "YES - When it gets tired buddy"

Ol' Blue

Ol' Blue has been in the family since he was brand new in 1952. It was my Grandfather's truck and was left to my Dad. Hidy has completed fixed up Ol' Blue. It has been his toy and his project for the last many years. Just recently he installed seat belts in Ol' Blue.

He was anxious to take some grandkids for a ride! With seat belts, we were able to strap in car seats for a little ride around the neighborhood. Millie went along for the ride too, in the back. She thinks she always need to go with Hidy if he takes the truck anywhere.

Last Dance

We had our last Mommy & Me dance class. Family and friends were invited to come view the last class. Unfortunately, Maya and Reese had other ideas of what they wanted to do during most of the hour long class. At one point, the girls left Colette and I to do the dances by ourselves.

There were periods of time that they did cooperate.

Zoe was among those watching, but she came out to do a few moves with us. She did "butterflies" and stretches with Maya.

One of Maya's favorite dance "moves" is walking on her tip toes with her hands above her head.

Camera Cutie

We got our new camera!

Maya was helping me make dinner and posed for me a few times. This is rare, normally when I break out the camera and she knows it, she frowns or turns away.

Mason was away at Adventure Week at church. Adventure week is our church's version of Vacation Bible School and it is in the evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. It was an unusual week for Brian, Maya, and I. It felt like we only had one child and Maya got a lot more undevided attention from us. It was strangely much quieter at our house in the evenings!
Mason had an awesome time every night -- and was very excited about it all.

Swimming fun

It was finally hot and sunny on a Sunday and we played in the pool at Hidy & Gigi's!

This is what a 2 year old looks like when you take something that she is playing with...or if something doesn't go exactly like she thinks it should....

Mason shows off his swimming skills...

The 2005 girls play with buckets of water, and they stay very busy...

The other "kids" make up games -- someone jumps off the diving board, another is like a quarter back, but throwing a tennis ball, and 2 or more others try to make sure the "receiver" does not catch the ball before entering the water. RUTHLESS!!!

Carmen's Fiesta

Carmen's birthday was "Fiesta" themed, and of course, Angi went ALL OUT! Gigi made the adorable Pinata cake.

Mason and Maya were ready to get in the water!

Angi and David made this real Pinata -- very cool!

Gabe and the 2005 girls sit on "Tuga" the turtle. (Maya named it "Tuga" like from the Diego episode about "Tuga" the tortuga)

We had a great time at Carmen's 7th birthday party!

Circus

Grandmother and Pops treated us to the circus! We had seats way up close -- 3rd row and right in the middle. My kids are never going to understand having to sit up in the nosebleed section!!

At first Maya was a little concerned about the "clowns." But before long she was really into the circus. By the end of the night she was standing up and jumping up and down as she watched all the action.

G & P's bought Mason a sword that lights up and Maya a "spinder fing" that lights up and spins around. I KNEW they should both get the "spinder fing" because it was really cooler and I knew they would be fighting over it. It didn't take long for that to happen. But they both loved their souvenirs. The sword has actually come in handy for Mason to get things that roll under the couch, too! :)
Thank you SO much Grandmother and Pops! We had so much fun!!

How 'bout them Cowboys?!?!

Hidy and Brian took Mason to his first Dallas Cowboys game at Texas Stadium!

The Cowboys beat the Colts in their first pre season game!

It was SUPER HOT!!! On the news that night they talked about how hot it was inside the stadium and how many people were treated for heat exhaustion. You can tell Mason is hot with his red cheeks and sweaty hair.

Mason was most excited that "the Cowboys won" and that he got to eat "cotton candy!"

Thanks for the pictures Hidy!

Where are the posts of my children?

What happened to pictures of M&M, you ask? Really, no one has asked, but I just realized my last 3 posts were all adults only! No children in my posts or my pictures... how dare me??? What kind of Mother am I?

I am a Mother who has been very busy this summer!!

Anyway, I can't even post a new picture tonight because our camera is officially shot. I called Arlington camera today and they basically told me it would be useless to have it worked on or potentially repaired because once it has water damage it will always have problems. My very intelligent brother in law, David, told me the same thing the night before, but I just held out hope that another opinion would say they could just look and see what they thought... but NOPE! David was right, he always is.

We will be looking for a new camera ASAP.
