Skate Night

I don't like when my posts get out of order... but.. these pictures are from the Skate Night fund raiser for Mason's school back in September. My Mom & Lauren came with me to help becauase neither Mason or Maya had ever gone roller skating before, and Brian was out of town. I didn't think I could help both of them on skates at once. Gigi camed armed with a camera, which I was happy about. Lauren, who I planned on skating with me and the kids, did not skate -- she had a bad headache. They both helped me by keeping one kid on the floor while I had one on the rink.
Mason poses here with the Granddaughter of his bus driver, Blake, and Maya.

Helping kids skate for the first time is not easy. They fell so many times, but amazingly got back up and kept trying. At the end of the night, I told them how proud I was that they never gave up.

By the end of the night, they started to get the hang of it -- skating without me holding them up -- but they still fell a lot. You can see how red Mason's face is and how sweaty he looks!

Finally all 3 of us skating! We had fun - and I was EXTREMELY sore the next day. (My arms and back from holding them up!)
