We met Grandmother and Pops at Babe's for dinner. On the way there, we were trying to explain to Mason and Maya which restaurant Babe's was because we haven't been in a while. We were saying, "you know, the one where they do the hokie pokie and stuff" and Maya replies "can I do the hokie pokie," "yes" I say. Then Maya, "Do they have a microphone?!?!" My answer was basically yes, but not for you. Carmen's party really started the entertaining interest in her apparently.
So, when it was time to do the hokie pokie, she jumped up and joined our cute waitress. A little later we discovered our waitress was singing a solo with the microphone...she came by our table and sang to us and Maya was really absorbing it all.
We had let Mason skip nap on Friday trying to prepare him for Kindergarten. So on the way to Babe's he fell asleep in the car. When we got there he was kind of cranky. He perked up after dinner. Then he was really happy when he got to order ice cream for dessert. I took a picture of he and Pops enjoying their desserts and then of course he wanted to take a picture of me and Maya.
