It kept them occupied for a little bit. Then I took them down to eat some breakfast. I kept them down in the breakfast area for as long as I could and then we took Brian a cup of coffee and woke him up. The kids really enjoyed running up and down the hall. After breakfast, we met up with Janet, Derek, Maddox, and Berkley to go to Schlitterbahn.
The kids had fun at the waterpark. It is SO HUGE that there was no possible way for us to see everything in the time we planned to be there. We got there close to opening time at 10:00 a.m., and we actually stayed until 5:00 p.m. There are basically 2 parks -- East and West. You take a free bus to get from park to park. Some of the pools / slides are "fresh water" and some are chlorinated. When Maya saw the first "fresh" water pool, she said "EWWW, it's DIRTY." (I sort of agreed with her)

On the bus between parks headed back to our car to leave, Mason and Maya both pointed out to me that this was their FIRST BUS RIDE EVER. They thought that was pretty cool. I think they felt very liberated not wearing seatbelts! We got back in the Tahoe and drove the rest of the way to Port Aransas. We planned this day this way thinking that the kids would be so exhausted, they would sleep the rest of the trip in the car. Welllllll, THAT did not happen. I cannot complain, because they did great -- but they did not ever shut those blue eyes! We got to the condo after dark, but they were ready to get some energy out. The other 2 families had beat us there and as soon as we got there we brought the total number of kids to 6! We got them to bed late -- again -- at about 11 p.m. or so.
