The BEACH

We got up Friday and spent a couple of hours getting ready to go the beach. We were getting chairs, the tent, towels, sand toys, the big boat like raft, lunches, and a cooler full of drinks together along with 6 kids! WHEW!

We piled the 5 bigger kids in the 2nd row of Wendy's Suburban -- the beach really is within walking distance, but with all the gear we prefer to have vehicles. So, don't worry, the kids were okay with no car seats or seat belts. We couldn't seem to fit the raft, so Derek and Brian carried it to the beach.
And we MADE IT! Here I am with Janet, and Wendy.

Brian took some of the kids out for round one of the raft ride on the waves.

Maya poses with Mommy.
I spotted a dead crab in the sand and we pointed it out to Luke...who immediately picked it up, and ran it over to the water.

Parker and Maya were so cute sitting together in the sand. They were exfoliating their legs with the sand....

Bathing Beauties in the sun. Maya and Parker played so well together the whole trip. Of course, Maya looking up to Parker in everything she did.

The 3 girls pose in the raft together. Maya, Berkley, and Parker.
The family beach photo.

The boy -- who stayed out of the water most of the time. His legs were chaffed from the day before and the salt water was causing his legs to burn.

Brian takes kids out for round 2. We talked Mason into going (he was worried about his legs), but he went and loved it!

Back at the tent, the kids had their tunes playing. There was a Veggie Tales song "God is bigger than the Boogie Man"... The kids thought this was HILARIOUS and they laughed hard everytime the song said "BOOGIE MAN!"
So, it was played, over, and over, and over again.

We had a fun time at the beach!
